Hail to the king.....wait there's no ash at all? That's right, today's review is the new Evil Dead Remake / 4. I went to see this with my mom as she was a Evil Dead fan too. I couldn't wait for this movie. I've known about it for about a little over a year. I couldn't wait. What I got was a gore fest that rivaled the first movies. The story was a little more fleshed out, but something about it bothered me. First almost within the first half an hour we see ash's car sitting in the back, oh boy I thought whens he going to show up. I waited... and waited but no Ash. I thought the was a huge disappointment. He couldn't even make a cameo in this? Second the movie breaks it's own rules. Someone is possessed and the only way to get rid of the demon and evil things is for the person to die and then everything will be fine, well without spoiling anything after this is done shit still happens. So it seems like they don't follow their rules, but as a stand alone movie i would be much more fair to this movie. This is a fun horror movie, but has very little to do with evil dead as i know it. I've read that they are going to fix this by making more movies and have them tie in to the old movies. also i did not stay to the very end of the credits were Ash does make a small cameo, but it's so small it's kind of disappointing.. The movie was not scary but very gory but that seems par to horror movies of this generation. The story is much more in depth. We find out exactly why the people are there in the first place, and i did like the opening. What i didn't like was the dark one at the very end, not all that scary. II chuckled at the way some of the people lose limbs. I liked Mia and the nurse a lot, as well as the guy who actually reads the book. All in all i give it 3 stab wounds out of 5.
